Regional differences between residential areas, micro-regions and the need for compensation for social, infrastructural, economic disadvantages call for a great deal of development efforts in Hungary. Such programmes, projects have been mostly implemented with the support of the EU Structural Funds.

The European Commission has approved the first major transport project in Hungary, the construction of tram line No. 2 in Debrecen. The elaboration of the project was led by COWI Hungary Ltd.
next 39% of COWI Hungary staff has ridden their bikes to work on a daily basis under the campaign running from April 6 through May 8th. It secured the 12th place in "the ratio of cyclists" category for COWI in the ranking of registered companies.
